Dyanna Daniels founded DLD with Arthur J. Daniels in 2004. Since then she has made DLD her own focusing more on the Hip Hop aspect of the company. She is the Director and Head Choreographer of DLD.
She began dancing in college for the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center Dance Troupe and began choreographing in 2004. She was President of the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center Dance Troupe from 2005-2007 and participated in the BET Spring Bling Revamped Competition in 2006. Her choreography to date includes the dance styles of Hip Hop, Lyrical, Spiritual and Jazz. She has taken a master class from Mia Michaels and auditioned for the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance”. She is currently a Dance Instructor at the Elmhurst Park District where she teaches Hip Hop, Jazz and several other dance styles. She also teaches Hip Hop classes for Diva le Dance at the Darien Park District.
Dyanna is a true believer that many dance styles can be fused together to create amazing entertainment. Even with the focus of the company being on Hip Hop, she tries to incorporate other styles when possible to not limit DLD to any one style.
Tony Wilder is DLD's Assistant Choreographer bringing his distinctive and exciting dance style to DLD and everything he choreographs.
He has been dancing for 8 years and has been choreographing for 5 of those years. He choreographed for his college student dance shows all 4 years and also for his college dance team. Along with that he also choreographed for many of the theatre department’s musicals and for numerous other campus events including “Dancing with the Profs”. He is currently teaching Boys Hip Hop Classes at the Darien Park District for DLD.
Natalie Gilberto started dancing in 1988 and teaching since 2000. She was also a member of the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center Dance Troupe, University Dance Theatre, and Fusion Dance Team and served in Executive Board positions for all of them at WIU. She has studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary and ballroom. She is currently an instructor and competitor with Arthur Murray Dance International.
Eric Murdock has been dancing for the past 3 years and has a real passion for it. He has dabbled and taken classes in several dance styles including Salsa, Hip Hop and Freestyle.
Danielle Meridieth has been dancing for 18 years and teaching for 14 years. She competed with Vaughan Dance Academy for 7 years and also taught competitive dance for 10 years. Her teaching and dance experience include Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Tumbling and Pre Dance. She has received choreography awards from Chicago Dance Connection, Dupree and Stars of Tomorrow. She also auditioned for Beyonce in 2007.
Joe Freelon began dancing when he was 16 years old. He has been a background dancer for Same Team, Chris Brown, 3 Piece and Georgio. He also teaches dance at his local Park District and has done so for the past year and a half.
Felix Estrada has been dancing for years and even taught himself the art of breakdancing before he joined any crews. He founded the Hip Hop Dance Team at Highland Highschool and has performed all over the Midwest. He has taught Hip Hop for the past 4 years and Breakdancing for the past 3 years.
